Like, when was the last time a trilogy-ender seriously nailed the landing, nevermind all three games being consistently great? Like, the only trilogies that I can think of that get close are the Phoenix Wright GBA trilogy and the Metroid Prime Trilogy. It's just fucking beautiful.Īnd then I realized I don't think I've been this satisfied with the end of a gaming trilogy, like, ever. The story also swerves in wonderfully bonkers directions and I am totally here for it. The gameplay is still stellar, is arguably the most challenging of the trilogy, but also ties up the story in an incredibly satisfying way, is an incredible love letter to the Metafight/Blaster Master series, and ties together both the Japanese and English sides of the franchise together near-perfectly. I loved the first two games, and I wanted to experience the final game blind. I recently got around to buying and finishing Blaster Master Zero 3, avoiding spoilers until the end for once.

You know, with stories that actually lead into each other properly, not just the first few games in a series, especially ones with next to no story.
